    Vision

Our vision for Computing is to instil a sense of enjoyment around using technology. We develop pupils' appreciation of its capabilities and the opportunities technology offers to create, manage, organise and collaborate.

Tinkering with software and programs forms part of the ethos of the computing curriculum. We want to develop pupils' confidence when encountering new technology, which is a vital skill in the ever-evolving and changing landscape of technology.

Through our curriculum, we intend for pupils not only to be digitally competent and have a range of transferable skills at a suitable level for future learning and employment, but also to be responsible, safe online citizens.

    Intent

    • For pupils to develop the skills and knowledge in order to navigate the digital landscape
    • To develop critical thinking and creativity and innovation through computational concepts, problem-solving and algorithmic thinking
    • For pupils to become responsible and safe digital citizens, guided by an understanding of ethical considerations, online safety and the responsible use of technology.
    • To build a solid foundation for future learning.
