Mr Hague is our new permanent Headteacher!

We are delighted to share that our current acting Headteacher, Chris Hague has been successfully recruited as permanent Headteacher of Malin Bridge Primary School. Chris first joined Malin Bridge 14 years ago and has served as deputy headteacher for around 10 years. He has been instrumental in securing our two Outstanding Ofsted ratings, alongside our previous Headteacher, Robbie McGrath, who left the school at Christmas. We are over the moon that Chris will take the helm permanently.

The Chair of Governors, Angela Cox, wrote to parents to announce the appointment, writing, "I was part of the interview process and gained a real insight into Chris’s priorities and vision for the school moving forward, whilst developing his own identity as headteacher. I am totally confident that Chris will maintain and further develop the high standards that we have become accustomed to at Malin Bridge Primary school".

In a letter to staff, following the announcement, Chris wrote, "I am deeply honoured and proud to be trusted with this important role and feel privileged to lead a fantastic school which has wonderful children and amazing staff in a supportive community which I am very committed to following fourteen years of working in school."

We hope that the school community will join us in wishing Chris, "Congratulations!".
